Manchester United, City, Chelsea and Liverpool are among the big clubs in the Premier League that pay huge salaries to players. With West London recently spending close to £600m on a new group of players, one would expect the wage bill to be higher.

The same goes for well-known names on United's roster, including Varane as well as expensive defender Maguire, who arrived from Leicester City in 2019 for £80m. Man City have Haaland, Kevin and Dias while Liverpool own Mo Salah.

KEVIN DE BRUYNE tops the list of the highest paid players in the Premier League. The Manchester City star, 31, earns £425,000 a week. Agreed a new contract with the English champions two years ago to keep him at the club until 2025.

According to L'Equipe, De Bruyne's teammate Haaland will be next. The 22-year-old Norwegian could be in his first season in the Premier League. But he was being paid more than £400,000 a week for his services.

The third and latest player to earn more than £400,000 a week is Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea. Salah is fourth in the table with contract-improved wages, meaning he now earns £373,750 every seven days. Finally, Manchester United signings from Borussia Dortmund and England international Sancho came in fifth with a salary of £373,000-a-week. Although the Red Devils are in talks with David de Gea and Rashford over a new deal to keep the duo.

Rashford is currently earning £200,000 a week and has been eyed by teams like PSG, according to the Daily Mail recently. Someone tried to offer him a £400,000-a-week salary earlier this summer, but the United academy graduate turned down the offer because he gave Erik ten Hag a huge sum of money. .

Chelsea star Mason Mount has several Premier League teams chasing him

Chelsea star Mason Mount is being sought by several Premier League teams.

Multiple Premier League clubs were interested in acquiring Mason Mount as he and Chelsea struggled to agree on a Chelsea extension. According to Athletic (Registration Required) (h/t Express), Mount's main goal is to stay with the team despite no progress in negotiations.

Manchester City, Manchester United, Newcastle United, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are all set to sign the player when his contract with the England national team expires in 2024, (Transfermarkt) Given his age and talent his team, Mount could become a mainstay for any of these clubs for years to come.

German champions Bayern Munich have emerged as new suitors, with new coach Thomas Tuchel keen to reunite with the player at the Allianz Arena. The German tactician has made the most of Mount during his tenure at Stamford Bridge and there's no reason he can't spark it in Germany.

Under Frank Lampard, Thomas Tuchel, Mount was a key player and was twice named Chelsea's Player of the Season. Injuries and poor form to date have left him struggling for many minutes under Graham Potter. However, the midfielder's salary increase was the main cause of his contract stalemate. He wants to win the same amount as his teammates and unless the Blues move, he will most likely walk.

Should he not sign a new contract with the team, Chelsea are also expected to sell him, but Mount's long-term relationship with the team could help secure a deal. But there has been no agreement for an extension of his contract, and Liverpool seem to be the most suitable place for him. If he goes, the club may want £70m to sign him. The fact that Mount is going through a difficult season may be the reason why Boehly is hesitant to increase the midfielder's salary. But perhaps they underestimated his abilities, or maybe he was new to Graham Potter's system.

It would be unfair to focus solely on him when other regulars like Kai Havertz, Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech are all struggling this season. In 53 games in all competitions last season, he scored 13 goals and provided 14 assists. The club understand that he is one of the Blues' best midfielders, so it is possible that it is only a temporary setback this season and Boehly should extend his contract.
