If a joint statement released by GRIDCO and Electricity Company of Ghana is anything to go by, then its unfortunate to announce that Ghanaians customers including individuals and businesses would start experiencing interruption of power supply popularly known as ‘Dumsor’ for a whole week.
This wouldn't be the first time dumsor would be experienced by Ghanaians .Years ago , Ghanaians experienced dumsor for a number of months and no one expected that to happen again but unfortunately it seems Ghanaians would once again experience the era of dumsor under the leadership of President Akufo Addo .
According to the statement that was released and signed by Dzifa Bampoh ,Corporate Communications Manager of GRIDCO and William Boateng, Director of Communications at the Electricity Company of Ghana, ,due to the maintenance works carried out by the Ghana National Gas Company (GNGC) at the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant(GPP) , gas supply which is used in the generation of power supply has been affected.
Due to this unfortunate occurrence, there will be approximately 150 megawatts of power supply shortfall and as such total power supply for distribution by Electricity Company of Ghana would be reduced until April 7,2023.
What this means is that from today Thursday March 30,2023 till April 7,2023 ,some customers of the Electricity Company of Ghana all over the country would experience interruption of power supply.
Effective tomorrow March 31,2023, the Electricity Company of Ghana would issue an outage timetable to inform their customers accordingly.
Based on the timetable that would be shared we would know which parts of the country would be plunged into darkness and at what time that would happen.
This would give businesses all over the country to plan their work schedules so that they don't get affected adversely by the interruption of power supply . Stay glued to this page for the timetable when its released.
