Sofian Kiyine, a Moroccan football player, was airlifted to the hospital following a terrible vehicle accident in which he crashed through the top of a sports arena in Belgium.

In the Belgian Pro League, Kiyine, a player for OH Leuven, appeared to lose control of the steering wheel of his car at a roundabout in Liege.

Youngsters were in the sports hall at the time of the collision, but happily no one else was wounded because the kids had already fled to the locker rooms.

After the accident on Thursday night, Kiyine was taken to the hospital, however it is not believed that his condition is life-threatening.

The footballer's automobile may be seen on a video traveling at a high rate of speed as it approaches a roundabout.

After that, the automobile accelerates up the roundabout and is launched into the air before slamming into the sports hall at a high rate of speed and leaving a massive hole in the structure.

Authorities in Belgium are allegedly looking into the event.

OH Leuven, which is owned by King Power, the company that also owns Leicester, released the following statement: "The club discovered that Sofian Kiyine was involved in a serious car accident in Liege last night."

"Kiyine was transferred to the emergency room of the closest hospital, where additional tests are being conducted."

"His illness does not pose a threat to his life." Thankfully, no other people or cars were involved in the collision.

Before making any further comments, the club is awaiting more information regarding the precise circumstances surrounding how the accident occurred.

"We wish Sofian a quick recovery," it says.

Although the exact speed Kiyine was traveling at when he crashed is unknown, the road he was on has a 55 mph speed limit.

Five-a-side football, basketball, and gymnastics are all played in the Louis Melin sports hall, but due to the crash's damage, it will likely be out of commission for a while.

Kiyine, 25, was raised at Standard Liege and is a Belgian national.

The midfielder began his career with the now-defunct Italian club Chievo and later played for Lazio, Salernitana, and Venezia before joining OH Leuven last summer.

Although he has played for Morocco's U-20 and U-23 teams, he has not yet made his full senior debut for the Atlas Lions.
