Due to an injury, Reece James withdrew from the England team, and N'Golo Kante hasn't played for Chelsea since suffering a hamstring injury in August.
Reece James and N'Golo Kante are expected to return from injuries in time for Chelsea's match against Aston Villa in the Premier League, giving the team a boost.
James withdrew from the England squad due to an injury after playing the final six minutes of England's 2-1 victory over Italy, although he has since been working out with Chelsea.
Kante has not played since August due to a hamstring injury that necessitated surgery, but he is expected to play against Villa after taking part in a number of friendly games behind closed doors over the break.
Reece has trained with us for the past two sessions, so assuming there is no reaction, he should be available "In a press conference on Friday, Potter added.
"It's good for N'Golo that he has had some playing experience on the field.
"We have to control it since he's been away so long, but I'm confident he will go out on the pitch at some time," said the doctor.
The defensive trio of Thiago Silva, Cesar Azpilicueta, and Wesley Fofana will all be out on Saturday, according to Potter, and Raheem Sterling will also not play.
"Azpilicueta and Silva are still absent. Raheem and Fofana are returning but won't play; they'll have a better chance against Liverpool on Tuesday "said Potter.
Mason Mount, who has only scored three Premier League goals this season, was another player who was forced to withdraw from the England team due to a pubic bone injury.
The 24-year-contract old's with the London club ends at the conclusion of the upcoming season, but Potter was gushing about Mount's attitude amid speculation over his future there.
Mount has experience and is accessible, albeit probably not at the beginning, the man replied.
"He's had niggly injuries and has been making noise off the field, which has been difficult for him. He's a terrific professional, and his interactions with me and with us have been excellent.
Sometimes you have to act well if things in your profession aren't going well, and he has.
After a disheartening 2-2 draw with relegation-threatened Everton, Chelsea, who is currently in 10th position in the league, will be looking to get back on track.
The Villa have gone unbeaten in their previous four league contests and are tied on points with the Blues in 11th place.
