A two-day herbal exhibition has begun in Kumasi, the Ashanti Region's capital, thanks to a collaboration between the Kumasi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and Angel Herbal Products.

The "KCCI/Angel Herbal Fair 2023" is the first event of its type in the area and seeks to enhance accessibility to approved regional herbal remedies.

Discovering Healthcare through the Healing Power of Nature" is the topic of the event, which began on March 31, 2023, and is taking place at the parking lot of Dufie Towers in Adum.

Adusah Herbal Mixture, Medimafo Herbal Clinic, Imboost Herbal Mixture, Sharp Herbal Business Limited, and the Amegashie Spiritual & Herbal Center all provide their support to the fair.

Given its potential, the expo will be organised annually, according to KCCI Chairman Stephen Acheampong. As part of its exploration of herbal medicine and identification of resources accessible in the area for practitioners, the expo brings together industry professionals, policymakers, and other pertinent stakeholders.

The purpose of it, he said, "would be to bring together industry practitioners, policy officials, and other important stakeholders to research herbal medicine and identify resources available in the Region for practitioners."

The Regional Minister for the region, Simon Osei Mensah, praised the Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industry and KCCI for advancing and defending business and industrial interests in a speech that was read on his behalf.

The ultimate goal, he stated, "is to make sure that sanity and support of traditional medicine gain maximal paramountcy like any other conventional treatment."

He stated that in order to encourage and expand the use of, the government has put in place institutional and regulatory frameworks. John Laryea Odai-Tetteh, the head of the Food & Drugs Administration, advised herbal manufacturers to be creative and follow moral and professional standards.

The necessity for herbal medicine manufacturers to constantly seek professional assistance was emphasised by Dr. Bernard Turkson of the Department of Herbal Medicine at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
