For the first time in Ghana, a neighbourhood library outside of the capital (Greater Accra) has been outfitted with cutting-edge "Huawei Idea Hub" multifunctional video conferencing technology.
Brian Wulang, Director of Enterprise Business at Huawei Ghana, stated during the facility's commissioning that the contribution is a result of the company's efforts to advance digital literacy and make sure that no one is left behind in the march towards digitalization.
"Huawei has been at the cutting edge of technical advancement for many years and is passionate about using technology to better people's lives. In order to ensure that the people use this facility, Huawei contributed intelligent video conferencing equipment and provided setup support.
We think that technology should be available and accessible to everyone since the globe is on a digital journey to progress and alter society. Huawei is honoured to take part in this fantastic effort that aims to enable everyone, especially young people, to realise their full potential. He spoke.

Upon the facility's commissioning, H.E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Ghana's vice president, stated that the library was created to improve the community's youths' digital literacy. He said that partners including GIFEC, the Ghana Library Authority, MTN, and Huawei worked together in order to make the idea viable.
"Education is essential to a country's economy, which is why the Ghanaian government is focused on expanding access to education via initiatives like free technical and secondary school," he said.
Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, the minister of communications and digitalization, also said that the Akim Oda library now has a robotics lab to help kids there develop their analytical abilities. She urged the facility's patrons to seize the chance and advance their robotics expertise.
The Minister praised Huawei's involvement in building the facility.
The Christiana Akua Brago Library and Technology Hub is now, in her words, "the first library in Ghana to be equipped with an intelligent AI powered video system" thanks to the generosity of the Huawei Idea Hub.
