PRESIDENT PROVIDES LIST OF EMPLOYEES

The Annual Report on the Staffing Position of the Office of the President for the period of January 1 to December 31, 2017 has been presented to Parliament by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.



According to the report, 44 Senior Presidential Staff members and two Ministers of State were on duty throughout the reporting period.



The number of Presidential Staff employed in the Office of the President throughout the time, the staff's levels and grades, and personnel from other Public Services assigned to the Office of the President are the three main topics covered in the report.


According to a statement from the Jubilee House Communications Directorate, during the reporting period, which was in accordance with Section 11 of the Presidential Office Act, 1993 (Act 463), there were forty-four (44) Senior Presidential Staffers are currently employed, along with two (2) Ministers of State.


Appointees

It stated that there were 315 additional political appointments at the Office of the President, increasing the total to 361.


It said, "It is vital to remember that only 163 of the 361 political appointees of the Office of the President physically work at the Jubilee House.


The others, according to the report, were working in the offices to which they had been assigned.


The statement also noted that the 315 additional political appointees include Special Assistants, Executive Assistants, Personal Assistants to Ministers of State, Regional Ministers, and employees in the Office in accordance with the established practise of earlier governments of the Fourth Republic.

The First Lady's and the Vice President's spouse's aides and assistants are among the others. Government employees working for offices like the National Entrepreneurs Innovation Plan (NEIP), the Free SHS Secretariat, the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), and the Special Development Initiatives Secretariat that fall under the Office of the President are also included.


Among the others, it included the Monitoring and Evaluation Secretariat, Zongo, and the Inner Cities Development Secretariat.


In addition, workers from Public Sector Organizations allocated to the Office of the President were included in addition to the political appointees.


According to the statement, there were many kinds of employees, including those who worked in administration, executive/clerical positions, records management, secretarial work, budget, supply chain management, the presidential family, and the Department of Parks.

Ghana Postal Corporation, Public Works Department (Prestige), Audit Service, and Ghana National Fire Service.


It said that there were 687 different staff categories in total, all of which were appointed by their various public institutions and the Civil Service and were consistently assigned to the Office of the President during past administrations.


"The President's dedication to openness and accountability is evident by the report's submission.


It gives a thorough picture of the President's Office's staffing situation and is meant to guide decision-making, the statement continued.
