Liverpool had a disastrous return to the Premier League this afternoon, losing 4-1 to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium. In what was initially dubbed a weekend classic, Liverpool entered the game hoping to get back on track after suffering successive defeats before the break.

The Red Devils got off to a good start and Salah put the visitors ahead in the 17th minute after a quick counter-attack. However, the hosts stepped up the game and Alvarez equalized just 10 minutes later thanks to Grealish's low cross.

In the second half, things took a turn for the worse for the visitors when De Bruyne scored to put City ahead just 53 seconds after the game had restarted. Gundogan then blocked Alvarez's shot to make it 3-1, before Grealish finished off with a low cut in the dying minutes of the game.

It can be said that the Reds' second half performance was terrible. While the win brings City close to leaders Arsenal, it leaves Liverpool seven points behind fourth place. That said, looking at their next three games, Liverpool's hopes of breaking into the top four could be more than beaten.

Check out their next three EPL games in the image below;

* Chelsea VS Liverpool (4/4)

As you can see, Liverpool's next game will be against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The Blues are in good form before the break and look more dangerous than Liverpool at the moment. With home advantage and recent results, the Blues are highly appreciated to win this match.

* Liverpool VS Arsenal (April 9)

Next is the match against the top team Arsenal. The Gunners are on the verge of winning the Premier League for the first time since 2004 and will do their best to maintain the lead. This season, they have only succeeded 3 times, showing their strength and quality. Liverpool will certainly lose key points in this encounter.

* Leeds VS Liverpool (April 17)

The final match on the list will take place between Liverpool and Leeds, which are threatened with relegation. We've all seen the lowest form of teams at the end of the season. When Leeds and Liverpool meet, they will be looking for a positive outcome. The Red Devils are expected to drop important points in this match.
