Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy has vowed never to sell players to Manchester United or Manchester City again.

The Spurs chairman will never forgive himself for selling Kyle Walker to Manchester City in 2017.

Levy's stance of not doing business with Man City or United is now seen as the main obstacle preventing the Red Devils from bringing Harry Kane out of Tottenham.

Kane, 29, who has enjoyed a stellar individual campaign, has just a year left on his contract at the end of this season and is attracting interest from Manchester United.

Tottenham have not given up hope of tying Kane to a new contract - and are even willing to risk losing him in 2024 - although any decision on his future will be made after Spurs appoint a new coach.

With Tottenham Hotspur stuck in an endless cycle, Harry Kane could consider pushing for a transfer once more, potentially reshaping the landscape at Liverpool.

In the summer of 2021, Liverpool fans were worried when Man City pursued Harry Kane.

The combination of the Premier League's deadliest AD carry and its most creative squad can be devastating, resulting in a scoring ratio not too dissimilar from Erling Haaland's this season.

However, Spurs have stood their ground, turning down an offer of $123m (£100m/114m) and refusing to back down as Kane delayed his return to pre-season training. (via The Athletic).

At the end of August, Kane will release a statement that he will stay at the club. Three months later, after Nuno's dismal tenure might have further regretted Kane, Spurs appointed Antonio Conte.

The arrest of the Italian coach, a five-time champion and one of the best coaches in the world, is seen as a coup.

And the initial optimism was proven when Conte's men came back to beat rivals Arsenal to take fourth place.

It seems that the Italian strategist can finally make Tottenham a serious team, or rather make them 'non-Spursy'. With an impressive summer spend of $212m (£172m/196m), he appears to be well on his way to challenging the top honors that none of which Kane has dreamed of. desperately. The Athletic reported in August that Kane is "happier at Tottenham than in previous years", fueled by the Conte project. It is even said that there is a possibility that he will sign a new contract and quell speculation about his future.

But Spurs' momentum quickly dissipated and Conte's sacking over the weekend sent optimism levels at the club lower than ever.

He has tried the long-term approach with Mauricio Pochettino and the short-term win-win strategy with Jose Mourinho and Conte, and he is no longer an opponent.

In fact, it is more. Under Pochettino, Spurs have finished in the top four four times in a row, but if he is absent against Liverpool or Newcastle this year it will be four years since he was sacked.

There doesn't seem to be any real prospect of the Lilywhites closing the gap on the top teams, and if they want to reunite with Pochettino this summer, the feeling of an unbreakable cycle will only increase. go up.

All of this could prompt Kane to push the exit door again.

"He has a big career decision to make," Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard told Channel 4 last Sunday (via BBC Sport), hours before the decision to sack Conte was confirmed.

"I've been there myself, when you wonder 'is my team good enough to bring me a medal?' 'Am I going to make my career what I want to achieve?'"

Right now, the answer to the last two questions from Gerrard sounds like a resounding "no". And so there is currently no indication that the 29-year-old, who is missing for some time at this stage, will sign a contract extension with Spurs that will expire in 2024 (via The Telegraph). .
