Chelsea have sunk into the second half of the Premier League after a 0-2 loss to Aston Villa leaving Graham Potter fighting to save his job.
Chelsea head coach Graham Potter could face a battle to save his job again after seeing the team fall to the second half of the Premier League with a 0-2 loss in front of Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge. The west London club are currently 11th and still 11 points behind Tottenham as a top four spot is now not far away from the Premier League, while a place in next season's European Cup is in doubt, and Todd Boehly may reconsider his support for the Blues boss.
Ollie Watkins and John McGinn scored on both sides of time to take the Blues' lead across the board and push Potter close to the edge after another foul from his players.
Chelsea had several chances to score, with a total of 15, but could not find the net as their goalscoring fears continued as Potter was pointed at by Sky Sports commentator Andy Hinchcliffe. quoted for not understanding the basics properly. But he has been helped little by some of his major signings, as Express Sport's review of three players costing a combined £194m left him frustrated.

Marc Cucurella
Potter has been a staunch defender of Cucurella in recent months after revealing he has had a tough time since his £62million move. If only the Spaniard could do the same for his manager.
The former Brighton full-back looked like a shadow of his former self in a role he excelled at at Brighton and made a horrendous error when he passed Villa to head, initially misjudging the timing of the tackle, then put the ball straight into the goal. by Watkins. Few can say that Cucurella has improved on Chelsea after a string of poor performances, and if it weren't for the lack of defense, Potter would certainly not have continued to play with him. If you want to continue your work, maybe it's time to have a tough talk with the Spaniard.

Mykhaylo Mudryk
In January, Arsenal opted to sign Leandro Trossard for £21m rather than spending at least triple their top target Mudryk and when things settle down, it could be a move that helps they won the title. Chelsea chose to bring in the latter, who was still waiting for his first goal - and his lewd play became a problem for Potter. The 22-year-old showed a lot of effort in his first months in the Premier League but did not have a finished product. But before Villa, he was given two golden opportunities to open an account at Chelsea and squandered both.
First, he reacted quickly to a stray ball in the box and shot straight at Emi Martinez. Then he shot after Joao Felix's beautiful pass but hit it too fast and lost his lane. Potter applauds his efforts, but in their hearts they both know it falls short of what people expect from the Ukrainian. Chelsea FC v Aston Villa - Premier League

Kalidou Koulibaly
While not technically a Potter signing, the 47-year-old has used the Senegal international at the heart of defence since switching to a three-man squad. His recent performances have improved, but it was the performance of a player who often lacked the concentration needed to play in such a central position.
