Fans are all saying the same thing as Chelsea lose to Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea fans have unanimously criticized January's performance when signing Mykhailo Mudryk in the defeat to Aston Villa.

On Saturday night, Graham Potter's men looked to close the gap between them and the Premier League's top four with a win over Unai Emery's resurgent Villa team.

However, it was the visitors who made the best start when Ollie Watkins scored to put Villa ahead after 18 minutes.

The Englishman picked up a failed header from Chelsea left-back Marc Cucurella before netting Kepa Arrizabalaga deftly.

In the second half, John McGinn produced something from the top pass to make it 2-0 in the 56th minute. Although the team played with below average form, it was Mudryk who scored the most goals.

The 88.5m man started Potter but squandered two delicious opportunities.

With the score 0-0, the Ukrainian player took a chance to go over the bar, minutes after Villa led Mudryk 1-0.

In one-on-one with Emiliano Martinez, Mudryk made a shot straight into the Argentine's sights.

After failing to make an impact in the second half, Potter decided to withdraw the winger in the 56th minute. Fans were furious as they took to social media to express their displeasure with Mudryk's crushing defeat and overall performance.

One person said:

"Someone please tell me HIS April LIFE AND MUDRYK DON'T JUST MISS OUT."

Another person tweeted:

We dodged a straight ball with Mudryk! A very poor performance.

A third fan added:

100 million scam, Mudryk is horrible

Another person wrote:

Is Mudryk the winner of the contest? He is a terrible football player. Didn't Chelsea spend 100m on him?

While a fifth is added:

Mudryk tries to pass the ball. He looks terrible.

After losing to Villa, Chelsea fell to 11th place in the Premier League table. Next up for the Blues will be a big game against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.
