Bayern Munich returned to the top of the Bundesliga on Saturday, beating Borussia Dortmund 4-2 at home to give Thomas Tuchel a winning start as manager of the Bavarian giants.
The new coach is counting on Joao Cancelo but did not include him in the starting line-up on Saturday and his decision caused a stir on social media.
Sports director Hasan Salihamidzic spoke to 'Sky Sports' after the win:
"Tuchel decided that but Cancelo is an important player in the team. We need him. I'm sure he will start other games," he said. The Portuguese came on for Alphonso Davies in the 79th minute as his team led 4-1.
Barcelona are monitoring his situation as they are interested in signing Cancelo for next season. However, we will have to see how the relationship between Cancelo and Tuchel evolves.
