Liverpool 'plan to loan Calvin Ramsay next season'
Liverpool are reportedly planning to send right-back Calvin Ramsay on loan for the 2023-24 campaign.
The 19-year-old has caught the eye of several top clubs during his breakthrough time with Aberdeen, and Liverpool have won the race to bring him to Anfield next summer.
Ramsay joins Jurgen Klopp's £4.3m squad, being one of three players to sign permanently with the Red Devils last summer alongside Fabio Carvalho and Darwin Nunez.
The Scotland international arrived at Anfield as a backup for Trent Alexander-Arnold but his debut campaign at Merseyside was cut short due to knee surgery.
Before the cutlery, Ramsay had only made two appearances for Liverpool and five appearances at Under-21 level, he also had to battle a stress crack in his back during his early days at the club. Liverpool 'plan to loan Calvin Ramsay next season'
Despite criticism for noticing his defensive shortcomings, Alexander-Arnold will not soon lose his right-back position and The Sun claim Ramsay should therefore be on loan for the 2023 campaign- 24.
Klopp is said to want Ramsay to play regularly in the first team as soon as possible, although it remains unclear when the teenager can return to action following surgery.
Ramsay made his Liverpool first-team debut as a late substitute in a 2-0 Champions League win over Napoli in November, eight days before playing 90 minutes against Derby County in the EFL Cup.
The former Aberdeen star is still awaiting his first Premier League game for the Red Devils, having been benched just once in a 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur in November.
However, Ramsay made an immediate impression at U21 level, scoring twice in five Premier League 2 and EFL Trophy appearances before undergoing surgery. Liverpool 'plan to loan Calvin Ramsay next season'
Liverpool boss Klopp has confirmed his side will stay busy during the summer transfer window amid a troubled domestic and continental season, with several players expected to head to exit door.
Roberto Firmino is confirmed to leave when his contract expires at the end of the season, while James Milner, Naby Keita, Adrian and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could leave under similar circumstances.
Arthur's nightmare loan term from Juventus will also not be converted into a permanent move, and strengthening the midfield is likely to be the Merseyside giants' number one priority.
The Reds dropped to eighth in the table after a 4-1 loss to Manchester City on Saturday, and Klopp's men returned to play against 11th-placed Chelsea on Tuesday night.
