Kai Havertz reveals that N'golo Kante has been using the same phone for 10 years

Chelsea star Kai Havertz gave a revealing interview with The Guardian about his views on life and football in which he shared insights into the personalities of some of his fellow players. his team.

Havertz, who recently announced the creation of his own charity, talks about his preference for a simpler lifestyle, unlike some other players he has met who are passionate about buying flashy shopping.

In particular, Havertz praised the humility of his Germany team-mate, Toni Kroos, and his Chelsea counterpart, N'golo Kante. Havertz revealed Kante is so practical that he hasn't changed his phone for 10 years.

“There is an image of football players, all luxurious and diamond, this and that. I have met players who spend too much on things that you think:

'Why are you doing this?' There are players who don't care but others do. Don't always say:

'I did this.' Sometimes it's a little wrong.

“Toni Kroos is one:

calm, realistic, not interested in flashy things. He knows that life is not only about football. N'Golo Kanté is a different person. He's had the same phone for 10 years, doesn't care about cars, doesn't care about clothes.

Havertz admits that some players like to treat themselves to expensive items, but points out that it doesn't always reflect their personalities. He suggests that some gamers may use flashy purchases as a form of protection or a way to present a certain image.

The Germany international also shared his belief that football is not the most important thing in his life, saying that other things "could be 100 times more important".

"Football is not the most important thing in my life. Other things can be a hundred times more important. Saying it out may not be easy and people don't like it, but that's what I feel.

This feeling prompted him to start his own charity, focusing on animal welfare, youth development and aged care.

Havertz's interview offers a rare insight into the lives of footballers and the different personalities on a team. While some players may opt for a lavish lifestyle, others like Kante and Kroos prefer a more grounded approach. Regardless of their preferences, however, Havertz says it's important not to judge others based on their drinking habits.

Chelsea are not having their best season this year after sacking Thomas Tuchel earlier in the season and replacing him with former Brighton manager Graham Potter. Their last defeat came at the weekend when they lost 0-2 at home to Aston Villa.

The German has scored seven goals and assisted in one of his 27 league appearances and will hopefully continue to try to help Chelsea end the season on a strong note as the season draws to a close.
