Arsenal are looking to bolster Mikel Arteta's attack this summer with another striker who can surpass Jack Grealish this season.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta could soon boast the attacking quartet that has put Jack Grealish to shame by leaving this season. The Manchester City winger played a key role in Saturday's 4-1 win over Liverpool but has come under heavy criticism since his arrival from Aston Villa for £100m.
Gabriel Jesus showed what Arsenal have missed in his absence since the World Cup after that game at the Etihad Stadium, scoring twice in a 4-1 win over Leeds United.
But Arteta wants to further improve his attacking options this summer by targeting Brighton and Hove Albion star Kaoru Mitoma. Arsenal are said to be eyeing their latest Amex stadium attack as they eye a £35m move for the Japan international this summer.
And like Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard, players imported in January from Brighton, Mitoma has eclipsed Grealish's numbers in the 2022/23 campaign.
Grealish has improved under Pep Guardiola this season, but four goals and eight assists in 37 appearances is disappointing for the most expensive player in English history.

For comparison, Saka, a contender for the Premier League's Player of the Season, has scored 13 goals and 10 assists in 39 appearances.
Martinelli also impressed, scoring 13 goals and providing four assists in 39 games.
Trossard got off to a good start at Emirates Stadium, scoring 1 goal and providing 7 assists in 7 games for the Gunners.
Including the Brighton numbers, the Belgian striker has eight goals and 10 assists in 30 appearances this season.

Mitoma scored his final goal of the season in Brighton's 3-3 draw against fellow European chasers Brentford on Saturday.
He has scored a total of 10 goals and 6 assists in 28 appearances in a breakout England campaign.
Arsenal have boasted one of the most exciting forwards in the Premier League, taking them to their first title since 2004.
Adding Mitoma to his ranks would take Arteta's project to the next level in the face of possible title defense.
