The year 2022 has been a very successful one for Ghanaian Gospel Artiste, Opiesie Esther. Due to the Waye Me Yie song ,she released, she has had the chance to perform at different events especially due to the way people are able to relate to the song.
As a matter of fact, the song has also received enormous airplay all over the country and it is indeed the favorite of many Christian and general music lovers.
Explaining the inspiration and secret behind the song, Opiesie Esther explains that she was once at a radio station waiting to be interviewed. During the waiting period, a beautiful young lady, obviously an educated one, asked her if she cared for some water.
That alone quickened her to start asking herself how an uneducated lady like her would be asked by an educated lady if she needed some water.
She got drowned in her thoughts and started recollecting the hard times she had gone through in life and how far God had brought.
It was through that moment of reflection that she started having the words for the Waye Me Yie song.
Evident of the fact that Opiesie Esther has had a good year and her song has been the favorite of many music lovers, she got nominated in seven categories of the 24th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards set to be held on May 6,2023.
The list of nominees for the 24th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards was released weeks back and she got nominated in the following categories ; Best Gospel Song, Best Gospel Artiste, Best Female Vocalist, Best Songwriter, Best Music Video, Vodafone Most Popular Song of the Year and Artist of the Year.
Surprisingly most Gospel artistes in the country are rallying support to win the Vodafone Most Popular Song of the Year as well as Artist of the Year.
