Liverpool set to battle Arsenal in race to sign Eintracht Frankfurt star Jesper Lindstrom but Reds hold key advantage

Liverpool and Arsenal prepare for a transfer poker game as both look to sign Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Jesper Lindstrom.

The Red Devils are hungry for midfield signings this summer as Jurgen Klopp aims to rebuild his failed squad.

Klopp is keen to add an attacking threat, with his current aging side floundering to deceive, while Arsenal manager Arteta is also considering signings.

Since then, Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg has revealed that Liverpool have been contacted to try to sign Frankfurt star Lindstrom.

He added that the Red Devils are "very interested" and that the " poker" between Liverpool and Arsenal has now begun. Frankfurt want around 44m [50m] for the Denmark international, who is certainly not turning down any side.

According to Sport1, Arsenal recently opened talks to sign Lindstrom for 26m [30m], but Frankfurt are now interested in more than that.

The 23-year-old joined the German side from Danish club Brondby in June 2021 and has been a Bundesliga find ever since.

Lindstrom has scored seven goals and two assists in Germany's top 22 games this season.

It will be very difficult if the Red Devils want to get his services, if Arsenal get their hands on the Premier League title. However, a bright spot for Klopp is that the player himself revealed that he is a Liverpool fan in 2022.

"I've always said that I'm a Liverpool fan so it would be nice to play for Liverpool at some point," Lindstrom previously said.

Liverpool have also been linked with a move for Lindstrom's Frankfurt team-mate Evan Ndicka, who is likely to leave on a free transfer, after failing to agree a new deal.
