Ancelotti tries Rodrygo in new position - scored and assisted 2 times
Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that he used Rodygo in the No 10 position against Elche to help create chances and space for his wingers.
"We started with a 4-4-2, but then I changed Rodrygo's position and that changed the game, freeing Asensio a bit," said Ancelotti.
The system worked wonders as Rodrygo edged past Valladolid's midfield and opened the scoring for Real Madrid. The Brazilian also provided two assists in the 6-0 win.

Tuchel watches Cancelo in Bayern training
Bayern Munich boss Hasan Salihamidzic has suggested Joao Cancelo, on loan from Manchester City, will be in Thomas Tuchel's plans at least for the rest of the season.
The full-back struggled to find a place under former manager Julian Nagelsmann and was benched in Tuchel's first game as the hosts beat Borussia Dortmund 4-2.
Cancelo came on with 11 minutes to go, replacing Alphonso Davies at left-back. The 28-year-old has made 10 appearances for the German champions since moving in in January, scoring once and providing four assists, despite being named in the squad only six times. The long-term future of the defender and his contract with Man City until 2027 is uncertain. However, despite being on the bench on Saturday, Salihamidzic insists Cancelo will get the game time he craves during his loan spell.
Speaking to Kicker after the victory over Dortmund - the team that brought Bayern back to the top of the Bundesliga - he said:
"The coach made this decision today, but Joao is a top player that we need. For sure Cancelo will have his games.
Cancelo himself only learned of the Bayern coach change from a journalist after starting in Portugal's 4-0 Euro 2024 qualifying win over Liechtenstein during the international break.
When asked about the immediate response, Cancelo said:
"I don't know! I was a bit surprised. Thank you Nagelsmann, he was the one who wanted me to go to Bayern. All luck in the world goes to him.
"I will try to adjust the coach's point of view as much as I can because we have some important games in the decisive period of the season.
"Bayern is a team that is always ready to win anything. As for Tuchel, he made me lose a Champions League final, so I hope he will win for me this year! Tuchel is the coach. Chelsea member when the Blues beat Man City at Porto in 2021. Bayern will face Man City in the quarter-finals of the Champions League next week with European rules of the game allowing Cancelo to face his host club.
