Ten Hag to Manchester United

Man Utd are said to be considering signing a new right-back this summer as they will 'listen to offers' for Aaron Wan-Bissaka ahead of next season.

The defender signed for Man Utd for around £50m from Crystal Palace in 2019.

He has always played pretty solid defensively but he is sometimes criticized for his poor work in the near future.

Speaking in 2021, Danny Mills asserted that Wan-Bissaka's weakness was "exposed" by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer when MU played with wingers.

Mills told Football Insider: "He was always a good one-on-one defender, but he was never comfortable with the ball. “It puts him in a position where you have to hold the ball better than defending one-on-one.

“You put him in a position to expose his weaknesses rather than exploit his strengths.

“It's not particularly good management. You're asking a player to do something he's not very good at.

Diogo Dalot has often been Erik ten Hag's preferred choice at right-back this season, but Wan-Bissaka has been consistent since the World Cup.

Wan-Bissaka is said to be still 'seriously thinking' about 'leaving' Man Utd when the summer transfer window opens later this year. Crystal Palace and West Ham United have been linked with him in recent months.

Athletic reports that a 'new right-back will be next on the list' after Man Utd signed a striker and 'no 8 style midfielder'.

They claim United will 'listen to offers' for Wan-Bissaka, while Dalot is 'discussing' a new contract when his current deal comes into effect in 2024. The report states. .

“If those two positions are sorted, a new right-back will be next on the list. "Aaron Wan-Bissaka has performed very well in the second half of this season, but United will listen to offers for him if there is interest. Negotiations are ongoing over a new contract for him. Diogo Dalot, who also holds this position.

“An attacking right-back would be the first choice if Wan-Bissaka is sold.

"Exploratory talks have taken place over Benjamin Pavard of Bayern Munich, whose contract expires in 2024, while Denzel Dumfries has changed agents in anticipation of a possible transfer from Inter Milan - Ten Hag is known to be an admirer of his countryman.

"The Netherlands international was photographed with Yalcin Sarica and John Morris at Wasserman."

Regarding a new striker, Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is in the 'thoughts' of Ten Hag. Napoli's Victor Osimhen, Benfica's Goncalo Ramos, Brighton & Hove Albion's Evan Ferguson, Eintracht Frankfurt's Randal Kolo Muani and Atalanta's Rasmus Hojlund have also been mentioned as potential targets for Manchester United this summer.
