Jurgen Klopp expects 24-year-old to be back in Chelsea’s team under interim manager on Tuesday

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes Chelsea caretaker manager Bruno Saltor may decide to play against Mason Mount on Tuesday following his recent absence under Graham Potter.

Mount has had to miss several games for Chelsea due to a pelvic injury and he was also unable to represent England during the international break.

That said, in the weeks prior to his injury absence, the versatile midfielder was mostly off the bench.

It is certainly a rather unusual sight to see him on the bench, as he has been a regular starter since his breakout 2019/20 season.

The appearance of Joao Felix probably played an important role in that. Like Mount, the Atletico Madrid loanee also serves as a mobile attacking midfielder on the team, and he seems to be Potter's preferred choice.

But Potter has now left the club and Klopp hopes Mount will return to Chelsea against his side.

"There might be a rotation," Klopp said at Monday's press conference when talking about Chelsea's possible line-up under Saltor.

“[N'Golo] Kante is back... Mason [Mount] I think I'm injured and for the first time on the bench [against Villa], [and he] can play.

“Their lineup can change. As for the system, I don't know if they changed theirs, but we expect something similar to the previous game.

Should Saltor decide to stick with the 3-4-3 formation, it would certainly be interesting to see Mount and Felix play side by side as two No 10s behind the forward.

Kante, who came on as a substitute against Villa, could also start for the Blues for the first time since sustaining a hamstring injury last August.
