Sources have told 90min that Benjamin Pavard of Bayern Munich has drawn interest from Manchester City, Manchester United, and Real Madrid.
While Pavard has long been regarded as one of Europe's most gifted full backs, his long-term future at Bayern is unknown, and he does have choices outside of Bavaria.
In the upcoming months, City, United, and Real are all considering expanding their choices at right back, and Pavard has emerged as a very alluring choice.
According to sources who spoke to 90min, all three clubs are well aware of Pavard's current predicament and have requested to be kept up to date.
Little over a year remains on Pavard's current contract, and Bayern are eager to start talking about an extension. The player acknowledged in public this week that the Frenchman and his representation have informed the Bundesliga's powerhouses that they will wait until the summer before making a decision.
"We're focused on our season goals and there aren't any current discussions with the team, stated Pavard. "I simply want to play the greatest football possible and win championships. We'll find out this summer.
Pavard and several of his teammates were startled when Bayern recently fired Julian Nagelsmann as manager, but new manager Thomas Tuchel has wasted little time in expressing his love for the 27-year-old.
"I'm not interested in participating in negotiations. He is an undervalued player, according to Tuchel. "He is incredibly adaptable and plays defense with great discipline. He excels as a team player. He gained my trust right away and then showed me why. That ought to be an obvious assertion.
The fact that City is interested in Pavard despite having Portuguese international Joao Cancelo at Bayern as a full-back option is noteworthy. It is unknown whether or not the option to purchase that was included in his loan agreement when he left the Etihad in January will be exercised.
But, Tuchel is a fan of Cancelo and has already praised his versatility in playing on both sides of defense.
