Chelsea have set a deadline for appointing their new head coach after sacking Graham Potter on Sunday night.

Several names have been associated with the work, including Julian Nagelsmann, who soon became a favorite for the job.

Former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino, now unemployed, is a serious option for the Blues.

Former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique and Napoli's Luciano Spalletti will also be interviewed about the chance to take over at Stamford Bridge.

Brighton head coach Roberto De Zerbi is another name linked to the job, while John Terry has also expressed interest in a first-team role. According to the Times, Chelsea have now set a deadline to bring in Potter's successor and want a new head coach to replace him on April 12.

That's when the west London club take on Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final at the Bernabeu.

Chelsea are 'comfortable' that interim manager Bruno Saltor will continue to run the game, but would ideally like to have their newcomer bench for an important game.

Winning the Champions League is perhaps Chelsea's biggest hope of qualifying for next year's competition with a side currently 11th in the Premier League - but it's a huge ask for a team so close. like in trouble this season.

Former Brighton boss Potter has taken charge of Chelsea less than seven months after replacing Thomas Tuchel in September - winning just three top-flight games in 2023 - and has turned down a return to coaching pellets. During Tuchel's tenure at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea won the 2020-21 Champions League - the club's second title in the competition after the first in the 2011-12 season.

I think the name Carlo Ancelotti might be the only one that can unite almost the entire Chelsea fan base in the direction they want to pick as their next manager.

The report claims former Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti is one name that has been mentioned, but it is unclear whether the Italian coach, whose future at Real Madrid is in doubt, will run. Are not.
