Manchester United consider signing Bruno Fernandes replacement
Sometimes we come across strange reports. Just speculation at best, but nothing has come through the cracks at Stretty News when it comes to Manchester United.
It seems crazy to assume that Bruno Fernandes could be replaced this summer. While I think we desperately need reinforcements in midfield, I don't think Erik ten Hag would think of giving up on someone who has played 45 games so far this season.
Bruno Fernandes can sometimes disappoint United fans with his risk-taking and frequent whining, but there's no denying he's still an important player. Furthermore, Fernandes was trusted to captain United in Harry Maguire's absence, with the centre-back being brought on from the bench by Ten Hag.
The Portugal international has scored 10 goals and 12 assists this season and he will aim to add to his roster at the end of the season. United have no shortage of games left.

With Fernandes' form in decline this season, one report suggests he could be expelled from Old Trafford in the wake of Ten Hag's revolution.
A report from The Athletic is cited by CaughtOffside, who have speculated that Fernandes could be a replacement in the squad this summer. Clearly, United are looking for a No 8 when the transfer window opens, noting that alongside Christian Eriksen, Casemiro, Fred and Marcel Sabitzer (on loan), Ten Hag wants another high-quality midfielder.
I will interpret this line a little differently. Surely they mean a midfielder deeper than Fernandes. A younger alternative to Eriksen and Casemiro is what we need.
