Liverpool and Arsenal fans could get chills when they see who is responsible for the pair's clash on Sunday.

The Gunners marched to Anfield in rich form, having won their last seven Premier League games while recovering.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are hoping to stabilize the ship after a tumultuous campaign on Merseyside.

The game is not easy for Mikel Arteta as Arsenal have not won at Anfield since 2012.

And it could be about to get even more difficult, after Paul Tierney was announced as the middle man. The 42-year-old will be in charge of the heavyweight competition on Sunday afternoon.

He will be assisted by Constantine Hatzidakis and Scott Ledger, while Craig Pawson has been appointed as the fourth referee, with Chris Kavanagh at Stockley Park on VAR duty.

What did he do?

Tierney has become an unpopular figure in Arsenal and Liverpool fan communities, being at the center of a number of controversial moments over the years.

Remember September, when Tierney was in charge of Arsenal's trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United. The match ended with a score of 3-1 in favor of the Reds, Arteta's side suffered their first defeat of the season.

Marcus Rashford's second-half brace gave Erik ten Hag three points, but it was Tierney who made Arsenal fans' hearts beat faster.

The Gunners thought they had taken the lead in the first half thanks to Gabriel Martinelli, only to see Tierney score after a Martin Odegaard foul in a match-fixing situation.

Speaking after the game, Odegaard criticized the decision, saying:

"In my opinion, it was never a foul. I think the referee saw that and he said go on. It's a light challenge and for VAR to come in, it has to be clear and unambiguous."

Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp has more personal grievances with Tierney, starting in December 2021 in the 2-2 draw between Liverpool and Tottenham.

Andy Robertson was sent off after a rough tackle on Emerson Royal, while Harry Kane escaped a red card for a similar tackle.

Liverpool also had a penalty from Diogo Jota, and Klopp was shown a yellow card for protesting on the touchline.

While the German was filmed telling Tierney: "I have no problem with the referees. Only you."

There will be more fireworks as the game kicks off on Sunday as Arsenal hope to take another step towards the Premier League title.

Paris Saint-Germain sports adviser Luis Campos has a lot of work to do if the capital team is to become a serious threat to the UEFA Champions League title in the 2023-24 season.

The Portuguese club head will have to return most of the squad while keeping financial fair play in mind when monitoring their every move. However, Le Parisien reported on Wednesday that there are seven players considered non-transferable in the eyes of Campos.

Kylian Mbappé, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Nuno Mendes, Achraf Hakimi, Danilo Pereira, Marco Verratti or even Marquinhos are players that Campos does not want to part with this next transfer window.

Names like Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr. not on the list but goes hand in hand with reports in recent weeks that the Ligue 1 side want to forgo the two players and the wages they demand. In addition, the French newspaper noted that Vitinha, Carlos Soler, Renato Sanches, Fabian Ruiz, Juan Bernat and Hugo Ekitiké could all leave if a club is willing to pay the asking price. As for Sergio Ramos, it seems Campos is also willing to let him go on a free basis when his contract expires in June.
