Liverpool have a headache before meeting Arsenal when Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota and Joe Gomez are absent from training.


The Merseyside side host the Gunners at Anfield on Sunday 9 April, looking to regain their winning streak after a 0-0 draw with Chelsea. Their hopes of getting into the top 4 are threatened as they are in 8th place, 10 points behind the top 4.


Jurgen Klopp had a nightmare ahead of Sunday's clash with Arsenal. Salah, Jota and Gomez were all absent from the team's training session on Thursday, April 6, according to The Anfield Talk. Salah started the draw with Chelsea on the bench but was brought on in the 65th minute. Meanwhile, Jota and Gomez played the full 90 minutes. But it looks like the trio may have some fitness issues.


Their absence from Liverpool's clash with Arsenal would be a blow to Klopp's men. Salah has been in fine form this season, scoring 23 goals and contributing 11 assists in 41 games in all competitions. Meanwhile, Jota has struggled with injury issues but has racked up seven assists in 18 games. Gomez played as an interim right-back against Chelsea due to Trent Alexander-Arnold's poor form. However, the English defender has also been injured this season, making 30 appearances.

Liverpool defender Van Dijk will be fit to face Arsenal on Sunday. The Dutchman missed the team's draw at Stamford Bridge due to illness. However, The Athletic reports that the veteran centre-back will start for Klopp's side against the league leaders. Klopp is confident Van Dijk will be ready for the clash as he speaks after the midweek draw with Chelsea. He said (via the Evening Standard):



"Yeah yeah yeah. He's sick but until the weekend we have a few days.

Van Dijk's return comes at a crucial time when Gomez could be absent after missing training. His experience and know-how will be of great benefit to the Merseysiders as they look to get their goal of the top four back on track. The Dutchman has made 32 appearances this season, scoring three goals and helping his side keep 10 clean sheets.
