Everton manager Sean Dyche joked that he feared Harry Kane had "broken his eyelashes" following an incident that saw Abdoulaye Doucoure sent off on Monday night.

The Toffees drew 1-1 with Tottenham at Goodison Park, although they were left with just 10 men after Doucoure was sacked.

The midfielder lashed out at Kane after an argument and was sent off for violent behaviour.

Although he did raise his hand, the likes of Jamie Carragher criticized Kane for getting on the ground too easily and trying to send the midfielder off the pitch.

While Dyche admitted Doucoure deserved to be disqualified, he hinted that he agreed with Carragher by mocking Kane's reaction. Doucoure will be banned for three games (Photo by Stu Forster/Getty Images)

"He [Doucoure] certainly doesn't need to apologize," Dyche said.

“He knows you can't raise your hand.

"I thought at one point he might have broken [Kane's] eyelashes, which would have been tragic, but he seems to be responding well."

'He [Doucoure] is a very strong character and I like that. When it's wrong, he won't be judged by me.

After a well-deserved draw with Spurs, Everton will travel to Old Trafford on Saturday to face Manchester United. Doucoure will miss the game due to suspension, which means James Garner or Tom Davies could be in the squad.

United will be without Luke Shaw after limping off in Wednesday's win over Brentford.

Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte is said to have turned down joining Tottenham Hotspur to move somewhere else.

The Spaniard joined Manchester City from Athletic Bilbao in 2018 and has become one of the most consistent defenders in the Premier League.

Laporte, in his five years with The Citizens, has won 11 major trophies, including four Premier League titles.

However, after falling out of favor with manager Pep Guardiola this season, with the former Barcelona manager liking Manuel sAkanji and Ruben Dias, Laporte's long-term future at the Etihad is at stake.

Linked with a surprise move to Tottenham Hotspur, who are in dire need of a defence, the Spaniard could become one of the Londoners' top summer targets. Despite that, according to British journalist Dean Jones, Laporte's move from Manchester to London seems highly unlikely.

Jones told GiveMeSport: “We were warned that Laporte could be one of the exits should they happen.

"I wonder if he will go to Tottenham.

"I'm not sure if that's the move Laporte has on the agenda if he's really considering leaving Manchester City.

"From everything I've heard, he's looking to move abroad and doesn't want to stay in the Premier League. So I'm not so sure about Tottenham as a stopover.
