Milan may be forgiven for anticipating playing Napoli in the Champions League after humiliating them in Serie A.

The approaching Champions League quarterfinal matchup between Milan and Napoli, according to Stefano Pioli, is not deterring the team from their entire attention on their Serie A matchup with Empoli.

Prior to that crucial match, the Rossoneri play Empoli at San Siro on Friday. On Wednesday, the Rossoneri host the league's clear leaders in the first leg.

With a stunning 4-0 victory over Napoli on Sunday, Milan is currently third in Serie A, but there is a tight competition for the top four with Inter, Roma, and Atalanta all within three points of them.

Despite the impending grandeur of the Champions League last eight, Pioli emphasized the need for humility versus 14th-placed Empoli since their league campaign is still crucial.

At a news conference, he stated that it was essential to maintain tension. Matches are won with attitudes and grit before being decided by quality.

We must maintain our composure; the league is significant to us, and we must benefit from this home game.

We need to stay on course, he continued. We achieved a significant victory in Naples, but we must continue to perform at that level there. We only need to consider tomorrow.

Later, when questioned why he can't focus on the Champions League match, Pioli responded, "Because the league goal is very important and because else the victory in Naples would be pointless."

The Milan head coach was also questioned over former club owner Silvio Berlusconi, who was identified as having leukemia and is currently receiving critical treatment.

We don't have such clear-cut news, but we're all concerned, he said.

We give him a big hug and wish him well so he can come back to the stadium.

Romelu Lukaku of Inter is said to have been the victim of racist shouts from Juventus supporters after his equalizer in their 1-1 Coppa Italia draw last week.

If racism is an issue in Italian football, Pioli responded: "I'm not sure. I have a lot of friends who show respect by attending games, but I'm sorry because sports and football require a different attitude to be enjoyed."
