The gap between Paris Saint-Germain and Lyon at the top of Ligue 1 has shrunk to just six points after consecutive home losses to Rennes and Lyon.
Paris Saint-performance Germain's has been deemed "unacceptable" by Christophe Galtier as the champions attempt to keep their lead atop Ligue 1 from being reduced once more.
PSG, who has already been eliminated from the Champions League by Bayern Munich, is only six points ahead of Lens in second place after losing their previous two home games against Rennes and Lyon.
Galtier has made his feelings known to PSG's star-studded team ahead of a trip to his former team Nice, who haven't lost since early January.
At a press conference, he declared, "We have adequately prepared for Nice. The day after the Lyon game, I spoke with my players and urged them to be more dedicated and outgoing.
"We also need to play games with more regard for rules. That has to do with our preparation and dedication, which were insufficient.
"We realize we need to do more," he continued, "and by "we" I mean everyone, including myself. We still have a lot to do. We must play better football and exhibit more character.
"With PSG, we need to perform well in every game, and the current situation is unacceptable, therefore we also need to be proud. We are confident in our ability to perform well when all of the players are committed and on the same page.
Galtier's future is in question because PSG has already lost eight games in 2023 after only losing four games all of 2022.
Of course, he continued, "it's not about pressure when we lose, and that was the eighth one and a crucial one. It is important to accurately analyze that situation so that there are no justifications.
"I definitely feel comfortable, that much I can say. Yet we must break out of this downward spiral and string together some victories. I also told the players that we are vying for our 11th league title. Although a six-point advantage may appear substantial, in football anything may happen at any moment.
