Football returns to action for the weekend clash after midweek games. The weekend is expected to bring exciting matches from Europe's top 5 leagues of which Italy's Serie A is a part. Serie A is expected to thrill football fans with more matches this weekend starting on Friday.

The newly promoted Salernitana host fourth-placed Inter Milan at the Stadio Arechi. The match was very interesting when Inter Milan opened the scoring after only 6 minutes. Romelu Lukaku set up Roben Gosen's shot past the keeper. Unfortunately for the visitors when they almost went all the way, Antonio Candreva equalized in the 90th minute.

Napoli extended their lead in the Serie A standings to 19 points after beating Leece 2-1 at the Stadio Via del Mare. Victor Osimhen missed the second game in a row because of a thigh injury. An own goal from the home team as well as a beautiful goal from Di Lorenzo sealed a well-deserved victory for Napoli. AC Milan host Empoli in the last match of the day. The match gave the hosts a chance to bolster their hopes of a top-four finish this season, but Empoli's composure left Milan struggling to break through their defence at the San Siro Stadium.

With four of Liverpool's top prospects hanging, Jurgen Klopp insists he has no thought about where his side will end up.

Liverpool are 10 points behind in the race to win tickets to the Champions League.

Midweek wins over Newcastle, Man United and Brighton make Liverpool more likely to qualify for the Europa League or Europa Conference League than in Europe's top league.

Some fans want to stay out of European football altogether if the Red Devils don't play in the Champions League.

With next season in mind for Liverpool fans, Klopp has insisted he is taking it game by game. During Friday's lengthy press conference, the manager was asked if he could see any benefit in missing Europe altogether, and he laughed.

I said:

“We don't care about the top six, the top four or anything. We have to worry about the next game.

"We have to win this game, win another, win another and we have the ability to do that."

With a snap, Klopp added:

"When we figure out how to bring our best back to the pitch, then we can change.

"[Quality] is still lurking somewhere, but we have to announce it again."

After Arsenal's trip to Anfield on Sunday, Liverpool only have one opponent in the 'big Six' group, Tottenham, the Gunner's neighbour. Although Liverpool's fixture list is lighter than that of their rivals, they are unlikely to achieve their goal of qualifying for the Champions League.

Klopp explained how the Red Devils were able to recover, saying "I think this club has a chance to get through this with class."

"I don't care what we've done in the past, to be honest," he continued.

"We can't let go of the past either, I don't want to forget it.

“If we get through this together, we can reap huge benefits. It's not guaranteed but it's a good chance.
