FC Barcelona wants to make 4 "super contracts" but does not have enough money to make big deals at the moment.

FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta is keen to make four 'super signings' this summer despite the club's financial difficulties, El Nacional reports.

The Blaugrana is currently deeply in debt and has been warned by La Liga president Javier Tebas to cut 200 million euros ($218 million) from its wage bill before the 2023/2024 season.

According to SPORT, Barca will meet the league next week and present a workable plan that suggests they can pull Lionel Messi back when the Argentinian becomes a free agent on June 30.

Meanwhile, however, Laporta is said to be interested in four players who can support the first team awaiting Xavi Hernandez's Spanish champions and help them challenge once again in Europe. Martin Zubimendi

Xavi's preferred choice to replace aging captain Sergio Busquets in the heart of defensive midfield has to do with his contract with Real Sociedad until mid-2027.

Moreover, it will cost around 60 million euros ($65 million) to free him, which Barca do not have to hand over at the moment.

Justin Foyth

Having to place midfielder Jules Kounde in this area throughout the season shows that Xavi is in dire need of a natural right-back.

Foyth can also play at centre-back but will cost 40 million euros ($43.6 million), which cannot be easily raised until Barca get their home.

Marcus Rashford

The England international, arguably Europe's best striker, impressed Barca as they knocked them out of a Europa League qualifier against Manchester United. This weekend, the British newspaper The Mirror reported that the Catalan side missed out on the opportunity to sign Rashford in 2019 after the club's legendary Patrick Kluivert denounced it.

According to El Nacional, Laporta is not president but is obsessed with signing Mancunian.

Despite becoming a free agent in 2024, however, it is likely that Rashford will go to Paris Saint Germain, who could offer him more money if he does not renew with the Red Devils.

Bernardo Silva

The most expensive on Laporta's shopping list is a Portuguese Swiss Army knife from a player who can play in multiple positions at United's rivals Manchester City.

Barca were interested in signing Silva last summer, but the same €80-100 million ($87-109 million) price tag would then be a stumbling block for 12 months when the transfer market closes. will open again.
