It's not the comeback Frank Lampard envisioned, but there's still a long way to go. The first half ended, Wolves 1-0 Chelsea. Matheus Nunes scores for Wolves. Wolves fueled their survival instincts as they secured their first half lead to take all three points.

It was a tense encounter at Tottenham when Dunk's header nullified Son's strike in the first half. Things didn't go well in the second half as the coaches of both teams received red cards, but that didn't stop Harry Kane from scoring the winning goal.

Brentford entered the first half with a well-deserved lead, although it took them a while to get ahead of Newcastle's solid defence. However, Toney ended up scoring the second time he asked for it from the penalty spot, after helping Pope make an easy save on the first and the goal was ruled out for offside.

Newcastle staged a comeback in the second half but were assisted by Raya's own goal before Isak scored to seal a 2-1 win.

Manchester United put in a fantastic performance as they beat Everton 2-0 at Old Trafford in an early game on Saturday.

Here are five things we learned from the game at Old Trafford…

Bruno Fernandes thrives in midfield

Bruno Fernandes once again found himself falling deeper against Everton, in what many would call a winger.

The great Portuguese keeper played a key role in United's dominance, breaking into the top four multiple times, creating two huge opportunities in the process. Only a loss of the ball in front of goal prevented him from adding to his assist list.

Erik ten Hag found his system

Despite the form of this period this season, the play is often the same as it was under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, relying on counter-attacks to win games. However, the past week has seen a change, with overwhelming and controlling performances against Brentford and especially Everton.

It seems to fit a style more worthy of ten Hag, more than he envisioned in the long run at Old Trafford.

A midfield with Marcel Sabitzer at the top has been fruitful in recent times and looks set to be the way forward, with Fernandes taking control of the game more deeply.

United wasted in front of goal

Despite the 2-0 win, United could and should probably end the game, especially in the first half, with six shots on target and six big missed opportunities.

The credit goes to Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, who impressed by saving three or four chances to keep the lead.

The win was a great result, but United need to improve in front of goal with a tough run ahead.

Anthony Martial scores again

Faced with one of his favorite opponents, Anthony Martial has made his name on the scoresheet after returning from a long-term injury.

Martial came on from the bench in the 61st minute and just 10 minutes later he scored his seventh goal of the season, and in doing so, he proved his worth to the Red Devils.

Martial's return seems to have put an end to Wout Weghorst's trip to Old Trafford. As Burnley's loan striker has been used very little since then.

Martial hopes to keep fit so he can stay at Old Trafford after this summer.

Another blank sheet of paper

Despite serious problems in defence this season, David De Gea now has 13 clean sheets, level with league leader Nick Pope.

It is a huge testament to the stability that ten Hag has brought to the club. To ensure that his team not only plays attractive football but also defends firmly. The result was a perfect example of the club's defensive prowess, leaving Everton with just one shot on target.
