Celebrated Ghanaian radio host and entertainment genius Andy Dosty in a new post on his Facebook wall gives his fans and entertainment lovers how his entertainment and journalism started and how far he has come. In 2012 I decided to leave America as advised by
Okyeame Kwame to come back home so I don't lose my popularity (even in Kumasi) due to my long absence. Abraham Ohene-Djan (CEO, OM studios) created a TV show and I hosted, a themed Graphic Showbiz On TV which was an audiovisual version of the newspaper; syndicated on almost all Tv stations. Although successful, the show ran for just a year due to certain circumstances (I'll share that later). In December 2012, Kojo Precko Dankwah invited me to guest-host Adom Fm's drive-time show "OFIE KWAN SO". At the tail end of the show, about 99% of the listeners were asking me to stay as they phoned in.
A few weeks later I was invited AGAIN but by the Human
Resources Department. We concluded that I would host the show BUT NO for two reasons thus
1. Per their structure I was expected to present
effectively in Twi but my pronouncements were
predominantly in English (aaahhh Asante nii ba paaa ne Abrofos3m)
2. Jerry Justice had begun hosting the show and was
doing very well as displayed by their "barometer" popularly known as the Tracker.
They quickly arranged for me to start a 2-hour show on
Hitz 103.9 FM dubbed EASY LISTENING from 1-3 pm on
1st April 2013. I remember a few words in my opening presentation,
"THIS IS THE FIRST PAGE OF A NEW CHAPTER OF A
NEW STORYBOOK"
Glory to God it's been 10 years of indeed a new chapter. I celebrate ME and MYSELF for all the hard work. I work SO HARD, I mean SO HARD to keep me going. I doubt if there's ANY other presenter or DJ that works on HITZ FM, JOY FM, ADOM FM, and on TV and has his/her own business (aside). Sometimes I get too scared and worried but heyNO PAIN, NO GAIN
