Tottenham join race to sign £20m player from London rivals
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea midfielder Hakim Ziyech at the end of the season.
The 30-year-old midfielder has been linked with leaving Stamford Bridge after a slump in form at the London side.
It is clear Paris Saint-Germain came close to signing the player in the January transfer window and he is expected to leave this summer.
A report by Football Insider claims that Tottenham have now shown a sudden interest in signing the Morocco international. There is no doubt that Spurs need to add creativity in the last third of the pitch and Ziyech will be a useful option for them. However, the 30-year-old hasn't been at his best since joining the Premier League and it could be a disappointing season against the north London club.
Ziyech has been quite impressive for his country at the recently concluded World Cup and it looks like he is having a hard time adapting to English football. Tottenham should be looking for someone younger with higher potential.
Apparently, Ziyech could be available for a fee of around £20m in the summer transfer window. Clubs such as West Ham United and Fulham are also interested in signing the midfielder. It will be interesting to see if the 30-year-old Moroccan international is ready to continue in the Premier League and join Chelsea rivals Tottenham this summer.
The player has not played for Chelsea since February and it is clear he is no longer part of the first team's plans.

Tottenham are interested in Noah Okafor, who could leave RB Salzburg this summer entering the final year of his contract.
According to Semper Milan, Noah Okafor is Tottenham's target this summer. The RB Salzburg striker is pursued by many from England and Italy because he can decide on a new destination after this season ends.
Tottenham may be looking for an overhaul for their attack as they may have to plan their lives without Harry Kane. Spurs want their talisman to stay in north London, but with the striker entering the final year of his contract, things look bleak for his future. Things will become clearer in the summer, but in any case, they have to rethink their attack line and make interesting acquisitions. The idea behind the signing of Arnaut Danjuma was clear in January when Spurs wanted to bring in a young striker to bolster options.
Despite the fact that Danjuma clearly doesn't fit into their plans, Spurs will look to sign a player who can provide the spark instead. Noah Okafor appeared on their roster, along with other players in that age range.
The 22-year-old striker has had a good season, scoring 10 goals in all competitions for RB Salzburg. However, with his contract entering its final year this summer, the Austrian side could opt for a currency exchange rather than an unsuccessful extension.
Okafor has had suitors from the UK and Italy in recent months. AC Milan want a new young striker to bolster their options. They are also considering Arsenal's Folarin Balogun if they consider selling the exciting star.
Arsenal are also looking at Okafor as a possible option to improve their attacking setup. Therefore, Tottenham may have to be strong, especially when they may not be able to attend the Champions League next summer.
The 22-year-old striker could get a discount if he has a year left on his contract. As a result, he becomes an interesting option for any club looking for a progressive striker who can play almost all three striker positions.
