Man City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed he is at odds with Arsenal rival Mikel Arteta after speaking out about Andrew Robertson and his 'elbow'.
Pep Guardiola appears to be at odds with Mikel Arteta after revealing he was not watching Arsenal's 2-2 draw with Liverpool on Sunday. The Manchester City manager has stated that he does not consider Andrew Robertson's controversial elbow incident a stark contrast to Arteta's.
Guardiola revealed he did not see assistant referee Constantine Hatzidakis elbow Robertson in the face after the half-time whistle at Anfield.
The FA blocked Hatzidakis when they investigated, but Guardiola kept it a secret. Surprisingly, Guardiola admitted he wasn't even keeping an eye on Premier League champions Man City with just over two weeks left before their clash at the Etihad Stadium in response to a question about the incident. elbowed at Anfield before their Champions League match.
He told reporters:
"I've heard of it, but I haven't watched it. I watched Bayern Munich and golf. I watched the highlights then, but I didn't watch it."
“They told me something had happened, but I didn't see the pictures so I couldn't comment. But it's strange. When people tell me that, I'm like 'wow, did that happen?'"

It is an interesting contrast to his former apprentice and main rival Arteta, who has previously admitted that he watches Man City when he can.
"We focus on what we can control - ourselves - every day," Arteta said earlier this month. "But, we love to watch football games, and of course if we can, we'll watch them, like any other coach or team, and it's a great game to watch."
Arsenal are six points ahead of Man City at the top of the Premier League, playing one game more than the defending champions.

Guardiola will know that if The Citizens win their hands and beat Arsenal at the Etihad, a third consecutive title will be in their hands.
But it should come as no surprise that his main target is Tuesday's Champions League game against Bayern Munich. Man City will confidently progress to the FA Cup final against Sheffield United and are favorites to win the Premier League and Champions League.
Things are on track for Guardiola to lead the club to a second treble in English football history, leveling Manchester United's record in 1999.
