Man City boss Guardiola warns Arteta and Arsenal: We're now ALIVE; I love it!
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola said the Premier League title race remained "alive" following Arsenal's draw against Liverpool on Sunday.
Guardiola was speaking ahead of the Champions League quarter-final against Bayern Munich today.
"Being in the quarterfinals again in Europe is a moment worth enjoying," he told reporters. “September, October, and November I get less. When you get to the final stage, fighting for the title, I'm the happiest man in the world. I like it here.
"What will happen? I don't know. [If we] win, everything will be perfect. If we lose, we lose. Nothing changes. The next day, [there will be] sunrise. We will try again in the future.
"That's the mindset we're going to have to adopt. We've done that in the past, that's why I'm extremely pleased with the players I have. The club we are in. Everyone is pushing to be better and better and better. That's why we're here."
The title race is likely to run until the final week and Guardiola continued:
"Yeah, we know that feeling," I repeated. We lose a game, we lose the Premier League. Play with this above us and in September and October you just can't get that feeling. "You say:
"Okay we can lose points or whatever", and after finding out that seasons like Liverpool were unstoppable and now like Arsenal they are unstoppable too. They scored a lot of points.
"Now I have the feeling and everyone knows that if we lost or dropped points today here, against Leicester or of course against Arsenal, we wouldn't stand a chance. However, we are here. [There are] lots of matches to play. The important thing is that we are still alive in the three leagues.
"I like it, you go to war thinking 'if we beat Leicester, we're still alive'. If we beat Arsenal, we're still alive."
