Liverpool youngster Harvey Elliott has revealed that he turned down an offer from Real Madrid to join Liverpool.
Elliott moved to Anfield from Fulham at the age of 16 in 2019 - and the move caused a lot of controversy.
Liverpool have been unable to agree a fee with the Cottagers, with Sky Sports reporting they have offered £750,000. However, Fulham want a fee in the region of £8m.
The case eventually went to court, with the Red Devils being asked to pay an initial fee of £1.5m, plus surcharges of up to £2.8m, to the midfielder. Now Elliott has revealed how he turned down Real Madrid to join Liverpool.

Speaking on the We Are Liverpool podcast, Elliott explained that he didn't need to think twice after his move to Anfield after Liverpool called - despite an offer from Real. I said:
"I was going to Madrid when I thought Liverpool had arrived. As soon as I heard they were coming, that was it."
Athletic reported in 2020 that Elliott had been offered a visit to Real's Bernabeu stadium as the Spanish giants tried to convince him to sign - and even have a meeting with the legendary captain. Sergio Ramos.
However, the 20-year-old refused, citing Ramos' late tackle against Liverpool's Mohamed Salah in the 2018 Champions League final as the reason for his decision.
He told The Athletic:
