Islamic Mission Secretariat Women Wing donates items to Ankaful Prisons.

The Women's Wing of the Islamic Mission Secretariat has expressed concern about the growing number of youth in prisons and advised parents and guardians to take good care of their children in order to keep them out of jail.

The wing stated that a higher percentage of inmates in prisons were of productive age, and that this trend did not bode well for the nation's bright future if it continued.

The advice was given by Madam Shaibu Abban, the Group's Organizer, when they presented various items to inmates at the Maximum Prisons.

Bags of gari, sugar, rice, boxes of soap and detergents, assorted soft drinks, toilet rolls, and bags of sachet water were among the items obtained through member contributions totaling hundreds of Ghana Cedis.

The gesture was part of the Mission's social responsibility to help the less fortunate in society and to show love and compassion in order to make them feel not neglected but included.

According to Madam Abban, almsgiving is one of the pillars of Islam, and it is especially prevalent during Ramadan.

"Such gestures will continue. "We will continue to pray for the officers here as well as the inmates, hoping that they come out reformed," she said, emphasizing that anyone could end up in prison.

She urged other religious organizations and individuals to assist prisoners because they were more vulnerable.

The Imam, Deputy Director of Prisons (DDP) Abubakari Abdul Rahman Danf, who received the items on behalf of the inmates, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Ahmadis for their generosity.

"We are overwhelmed by your support and donations, especially at a time when many people are experiencing difficulties in their businesses," he said.

"People have a lot, but they don't care, but with your widow's mite, you have supported your brothers who have been stranded here, some of whom are also Muslims and fasting." "May Allah bless you abundantly," he added.

DDP Abban assured the beneficiaries that the items would be distributed by the Service.
