Robert Lewandowski is the most recent person to ask for Lionel Messi to return to Barcelona, although his future is still up in the air.
Before to the upcoming season, Robert Lewandowski revealed his desire for Lionel Messi to return to Barcelona.
Messi, a legend in the club, joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2020 when Barcelona's financial troubles stopped the club from renewing his contract.
Messi's contract in Paris expires in June, and his departure seems more likely now that some fans heckled his name during the team's recent Ligue 1 loss to Lyon. The fans were angry about the club's strategy of bringing in high-profile players but failing to produce results in the Champions League.
Lewandowski, who joined the team last year from Bayern Munich, wants to play alongside Messi next season. A return to Camp Nou has frequently been mentioned.
At the release of the 18th edition of Solidarity Tales of Sport, he declared, "Messi belongs to Barca and if he comes back it will be something spectacular."
"We are aware that you live in Barcelona. I don't know what will happen, but I hope we can play together the following season."
Barcelona is on the verge of winning LaLiga for the first time since the 2018–19 campaign, but the team was ousted by Manchester United from the Europa League and departed the Champions League at the group stage.
Barcelona, which won the Super Cup earlier in the season, was denied a chance at a treble after Real Madrid eliminated them from the Copa del Rey, but Lewandowski believes that Barcelona will get better the following season.
"LaLiga is still in its infancy. We are moving along, but it is difficult," he said.
"It's been challenging since we have a lot of new players and a lot of injuries, as in the Champions League group stage or the most recent match against Madrid.
