Former Man City players Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko and former Chelsea midfielder Jorginho before training
Man City are said to have 'self-kicked' after selling Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko to Arsenal and will not make the same mistake in the future.
Pep Guardiola gave Jesus the green light and Zinchenko joined his former assistant Mikel Arteta at the Emirates this past summer.
Arsenal paid £45m for the Brazilian before landing the Ukrainian defender for £30m plus £2m.
At the time, City clearly did not see the Gunners as a direct competitor for the Premier League title.
However, Jesus and Zinchenko played a huge role in turning Arteta's side from a top prospect into title contenders. Arsenal are currently six points ahead of the defending champions, who have played one game less and host their title rivals in the Premier League on April 26.
The two teams have faced each other twice this season, and each time The Citizens have won.
They will face each other on October 12; however, the match was postponed so Arsenal could take on PSV in the Europa League to avoid a loss following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
The match took place on 15 February with a 3-1 win by Man City. It comes just over two weeks after Guardiola's men beat Arsenal 1-0 in the fourth round of the FA Cup. This month's encounter at the Etihad is near to deciding the title and Arsenal will need Jesus and Zinchenko healthy and explosive when they return to the old pitch.
Jesus has performed very well in front of the line this season, while Zinchenko has performed in his versatile left-back role.
Given their influence under Arteta, it is reported that City will refuse to sell any first-team players to the Gunners in the future.
They will 'reject any offers from Arsenal for first-team stars' after deals last summer 'turned' the Londoners into title contenders.
City's hierarchy is adamant it won't repeat it this summer and won't even allow 'side players' to trade Etihad for Emirates. In the past, Arsenal sold to Man City with Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy, two of many who left the Gunners to win multiple trophies at Manchester.
Arsenal hope City's title aspirations will be thwarted by the fact that they are still competing in the Champions League and FA Cup.
Guardiola's side will face Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals of the European Cup.
Meanwhile, they face Championship side Sheffield United in the FA Cup semi-finals and are clearly strong contenders to advance to the final.
Arsenal only have the Premier League title race left to focus on after being knocked out of the Europa League by Sporting Lisbon. Host city Leicester City struggled on Saturday night before the Gunners made a short trip to face London rivals West Ham on Sunday.
