Former Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama recently shared his thoughts on the upcoming 2024 presidential election in Ghana. Mahama, who served as president from 2012 to 2017, has expressed his intention to run for president once again in 2024.

Mahama spoke at a virtual meeting with delegates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the United States. He highlighted the importance of unity within the party in order to win the election, saying “if we are united, we will win”.

Mahama also addressed the issue of voter registration, calling on party members to ensure that they and their families are registered to vote. He emphasized the need for a strong voter turnout, saying that “if we all come out to vote and we all make sure that our votes count, we can win”.

The former president also discussed his plans to improve the country’s economy and infrastructure if elected. He mentioned his intention to create jobs for young people, improve the education system, and boost the agricultural sector.

Mahama also criticized the current government’s management of the economy and their response to the COVID-19 pandemic. He accused the government of failing to provide adequate support for businesses and individuals affected by the pandemic and called for a better response moving forward.

The NDC is currently in opposition, having lost the 2020 election to the incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP). Mahama was the NDC’s presidential candidate in the election, but he lost to NPP’s Nana Akufo-Addo.

Mahama’s announcement regarding the 2024 election has generated significant interest among Ghanaians. Many are curious to see whether he can successfully challenge the NPP and return to the presidency.

Overall, Mahama’s recent comments on the upcoming election and his plans for the country have given supporters of the NDC hope for the future. It remains to be seen whether his efforts will be enough to win the election, but his message of unity and progress has resonated with many Ghanaians.
