After Manchester City's thrashing of Bayern Munich, TV analysts in England and Germany predicted that they may win the Champions League.

Owen Hargreaves claimed that Manchester City outplayed Bayern Munich and performed like a team poised to win the Champions League.

Pep Guardiola's City defeated his previous team, Bayern, 3-0, in the first leg of their quarterfinal match, advancing to the semifinals.

Since they first teamed up in 2016, Guardiola and City have frequently lost in the biggest games of this championship.

There have been numerous failures, and their lone journey to the final was interrupted by Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel, who is now the manager of Bayern Munich, defeating them.

The performance on Tuesday at the Etihad Stadium, though, was perceived differently by Hargreaves, who played for both City and Bayern.

According to the former midfielder, "that's how you win the Champions League," he stated on BT Sport. "They were fantastic beyond belief.

"It was a very different Manchester City defensively. They had no flaws.

In his job on Prime Video, former Bayern striker Mario Gomez expressed similar admiration for a City club that "had everything."

Gomez said that the defensemen "want to go into every duel" and that the goalkeeper, Ederson, "fits this team well."

They have one-on-one players on the wings who can transform any circumstance, strategists who establish the flow, and Erling Haaland, a killer up front who scores goals out of nothing and even makes beautiful crosses.

"If Bayern doesn't pull off a miracle in the return match, I believe we have already seen the Champions League victor. This team has it all, so they might also suffer."

With a resounding home victory over Bayern Munich, Manchester City hopes to complete home and away victories over Bayern in the Champions League quarterfinals.

Although Pep Guardiola called Manchester City's 3-0 victory over Bayern Munich "a really, really nice outcome," he insisted that more work remained.
