Chiquinho is holding out hope despite Inter's lead over Benfica thanks to goals from Nicolo Barella and Romelu Lukaku.
Midfielder Chiquinho believes that Benfica can recover their 2-0 first-leg deficit against Inter by scoring three goals at San Siro.
Romelu Lukaku's penalty in the 82nd minute and Nicolo Barella's header in the 51st minute secured Inter's victory in Lisbon, making them heavy favorites to win the Champions League quarterfinal match.
Benfica had more shots than Inter (12 to 9), finishing with a superior expected goals value (1.7 vs. 1.6), but they still have work to do in the rematch in Italy the following week.
The Primeira Liga leaders lost for just the fourth time all season, and two of those losses occurred in the previous five days, but Chiquinho is still optimistic that they can advance.
He told CNN Portugal, "We knew it was going to be a tough game against a strong club. "The score was tied. We had plenty of chances to score, but we didn't.
"Despite Inter's two goals, nothing is lost. We're traveling to Milan and will give it our all to prevail.
"We can go there and score two or three goals if they've already scored two goals here. We're going there for that reason, and we're going to give it everything we've got."
Benfica defeated Club Brugge 7-1 in the round of 16 after finishing ahead of Paris Saint-Germain and eliminating Juventus in the group stage, when they were undefeated.
The Portuguese team has now lost three of their last four games against Inter while drawing one.
On Tuesday, Inter's latest victory was sealed by substitute Lukaku's late penalty at Stadium da Luz, which was given after Joao Mario handled Denzel Dumfries' cross.
Roger Schmidt, the head coach of Benfica, felt that English referee Michael Oliver ought to have given his team at least one penalty kick as well.
