Al-Nassr striker Cristiano Ronaldo currently holds the record as the top scorer in the UEFA Champions League, having scored one hundred and forty (140) goals. Knowing well that Cristiano Ronaldo is not playing in Europe at the moment makes it easy for players like Lionel Messi, Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappe, and more to beat or surpass that record in the UEFA Champions League.
Among the young players dominating Europe at the moment, Erling Haaland has more chances to score than the Portuguese captain in the UEFA Champions League. As a reminder, Cristiano Ronaldo failed to score a goal in his first twenty-five (25) matches in the UEFA Champions League but went on to become the top scorer in the tournament.
Currently, Erling Haaland has broken the record for the first time as the first player to score the most goals in 25 matches in the UEFA Champions League. He has scored thirty-three (33) goals that Cristiano Ronaldo has failed to achieve at that age. Given the Norwegian's propensity to score goals, he could beat or surpass Cristiano Ronaldo's all-time goalscoring record in the tournament.
Cristiano Ronaldo has scored one hundred and forty (140) goals in one hundred and eighty-three (183) games, a goal ratio of 0.77 while Erling Haaland's current goal ratio is 1.32. If the Norwegian played as many league games as Cristiano Ronaldo, he would surely score more goals than the former Real Madrid player at the tournament.
