JOSEPH YAMIN: "IGP DOESN'T HAVE THE GUTS" TO ARREST BRYAN ACHEAMPONG

Joseph Yamin, the National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), claims that George Akuffo Dampare, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), who got off to a good start in his new position, is progressively "tarnishing his image."

He declared that because his performance is now "questionable," he will step down as the "worst" IGP in Ghana's history.

Joseph Yamin questions why Bryan Acheampong, a member of parliament for the Abetifi Constituency, cannot be detained due to a remark he made on a public political forum.

According to him, IGP George Akuffo Dampare "doesn't have the balls," according to an interview with Ghana Montie on NEAT FM.

Bryan's words

Bryan Acheampong was adamant that the National Patriotic Party will assure its continued rule in 2024. According to Mr. Acheampong, the NPP won't enter the election properly prepared because it isn't ready to cede power to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He claims that the NPP has the personnel to compete head-to-head with the opposition National Democratic Congress in the 2024 elections.

On April 8, 2023, Bryan Acheampong addressed party supporters following a health walk through the main streets of Mpraeso. He emphasized that "we won't allow the NDC to take over, so if they try to intimidate, bother us, or act foolishly during the 2024 elections, we'll show them that we have the men to stop them. "All measures necessary will be used to keep NPP in power."

However, the leader of the largest opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), demanded that the Abetifi Member of Parliament and Minister for Food and Agriculture, Bryan Acheampong, be detained right away and charged with treason for remarks that the party deemed to be reckless and treasonous.

The Ghana Police Service's General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, issued a statement that read, "We encourage the Ghana Police Service to act swiftly in this case."

The police, however, have not yet responded to the NDC or issued a statement about the hot topic.
