Manchester United players have faced the possibility of delays entering the club's training ground in Carrington this morning following an emergency service response after a car crashed into a bank. The incident left a silver car stuck to the side, causing panic and was described as a "vehicle hanging from a cliff" when called to 999.
However, a series of emergency vehicles, including 5 police cars, 4 fire trucks and an ambulance rushed to the scene of the incident.
Upon arrival, it quickly became clear that the situation was a bit exaggerated, although the car still needed servicing. The incident has slowed down Man United's training ground and it is possible that Erik ten Hag's press conference will also be interrupted because of this incident.
Sky Sports reporter Ben Ransom was on the scene and recounted exactly what happened on live television.
I said:
"I have to show you the entrance to Carrington, where we're going to talk to Erik ten Hag this afternoon.
"The scene here is chaotic, you'll notice the fire truck over my shoulder here and that's because if you turn around, a car has fallen into a ditch here.
“We had a pretty substantial response, I think I counted five police cars, one ambulance and four fire trucks. "I think the initial call with the police was that there was a car going over the edge of the cliff.
“There are no cliffs here, this is the old training ground, this is Carrington, luckily everyone is fine.
"But Carrington's entrance was blocked this morning so the players may have to wait a bit before training."
