After completing a week-long training session, the Ghana Branch of the International Facilities Management Association (IFMA-Ghana) has certified eight new facility managers.

The need for the training arose from a recent rigorous examination of public infrastructure, which the majority of the public has attributed to a subpar maintenance culture.

In order to expand the number of facility managers in the nation, the organization consequently decided to teach the eight facility managers in programs like the Facilities Management Professional (FMP).

Operations and maintenance, project management, leadership and strategy, and business and finance were all included in the courses.

With the addition of the eight, IFMA-Ghana has now trained 99 facility management professionals in four years.

Complete the action

Sampson Opare-Agyemang, the president of IFMA-GHANA, said that the workshop will help the attendees understand their responsibilities, accept new tasks, and carry out their duties with the required industry knowledge.

He claimed that the lack of maintenance practices in the nation suggested that skilled professionals were needed to oversee and guarantee the longevity of both private and public property.

In this respect, Mr. Opare-Agyemang stated that IFMA-Ghana will keep putting programs into action as part of its aim to strengthen the nation's facility managers.

Several of the participants viewed the training programs as a great learning experience that would provide them with the chance to have a positive effect at their places of employment.

Sharing ideas and comparing notes with others in my business has been wonderful.

"The serene setting also helped me concentrate on the course," stated Fui Ocloo.

Bright Kafui Letsu, another trainee, thanked IFMA-Ghana for the chance and urged them to keep up the excellent job.

He continued by saying that the training had opened his eyes and given him the information he needed to develop his skills as an environmental practitioner.

Philip Nartey, who was also a trainee, urged his fellow professionals to take the course seriously in order to increase their knowledge of the field.

The previous week was amazing.

I've talked to a lot of business people in the field, comparing notes and trading ideas.

It's been great, and I'm happy to call myself an FMP.

"As I stand here right now, I've gained a lot of knowledge about upkeep, leadership, and business that you wouldn't often get in a certification program.
