Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella has revealed the 4-0 win over Manchester United last season - while playing for Brighton - as one of his favorite moments in football.
The Spanish defender switched to English football at the start of last season, joining Graham Potter's Hai Au team.
He joined Getafe from the La Liga team, after coming to Barcelona's youth academy.
After a string of impressive and consistent performances, Cucurella secured a summer move to Chelsea for an initial fee of £55m.
The 24-year-old has previously played under three managers at Stamford Bridge, with Frank Lampard the man currently holding the role after Thomas Tuchel and Potter were sacked during this campaign. Now, the left-back, who can also play on the left of a three-man defense or in defence, has detailed his most memorable moments.
Cucurella revisits Man Utd's humiliation
Speaking in an interview with Goal, the Spaniard called the Seagulls' 4-0 win over United in May 2022 - which he scored - as his favorite.
He explained:
"Last season when we played United and we won 4-0 and I scored a goal. I think it was one of the best games for me."
He also assigned a match to La Liga side Eibar, in which they beat Real Madrid 3-0 in November 2018. Cucurella's side received their first defeat against their coach. former Real Madrid boss Santiago Solari after replacing current Wolves manager Julen Lopetegui. “When I played with Eibar, we won 3-0 [against Real Madrid],” he began.
"It's great because Eibar is a small team in Spain and the atmosphere is great. I think we played a really good game.
"I think it was the first time we won against Real Madrid and I think it could be one of the best games I've ever played - it's a good memory for me."
Cucurella will be hoping to feature in another famous win over Real, this time against Chelsea in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final.
The Spaniard will likely start at left-back or left-back at Stamford Bridge after Ben Chilwell was sent off in the 0-2 first leg loss at the Bernabeu on Wednesday.
