Marcel Sabitzer says one thing is far more 'extreme' at Manchester United than Bayern Munich
Marcel Sabitzer pointed out something 'extreme' at Manchester United rather than at Bayern Munich.
Manchester United are in a fierce race for the top four as the Premier League draws to a close, level with Newcastle in fourth.
Meanwhile, Erik ten Hag remains in both cup tournaments at his disposal, as he wants to bring in some more silverware this season.
To help him along the way, the Dutchman enlisted the help of Sabitzer, who joined the Reds on loan from Bayern in January to support injured Christian Eriksen.
The 29-year-old has integrated well at the club, making 12 appearances in all competitions, as he hopes to extend his stay at Old Trafford. However, the Austrian pointed out one big difference between United and Bayern.
Sabitzer in the match against Man Utd
In an interview with German newspaper Sport Bild, Sabitzer detailed the high level of competition in United's midfield, calling it "harder" than at his parent club.
“There is competition at all the big clubs. At United, it's even harsher than in Munich," Sabitzer said.
“This is McTominay, Eriksen, Casemiro, Fred and me. If I was afraid of competition, I would not have joined Bayern or United.
Lifting the lid on whether he will move on permanently this summer, Sabitzer said:
"United has made it clear that it's a project until the summer and then we'll see.
"Until then, I want to give everything here. It's a loan with no options. In the summer, the situation will be assessed."
The former RB Leipzig player also hinted at Bayern's appointment of former Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel.
"I haven't had any contact with him [Tuchel], but I highly recommend him as a coach," added Sabitzer. "He is extremely meticulous and thinks all day about his game plan and training content. Besides, he plays attractive football. He is a top coach."
