After Simon Hooper decided against issuing Rodri a second yellow card during the Reds' match against Manchester City, Liverpool players approached him.
The Football Association (FA) has fined Liverpool £37,500 for an incident in which their players surrounded the referee during a recent 4-1 Premier League loss at Manchester City.
At the Etihad Stadium, the incident happened in the 34th minute of play with the score tied at one when City midfielder Rodri intentionally fouled Cody Gakpo.
Minutes earlier, the Spaniard had been cautioned for a comparable offense, but referee Simon Hooper decided against issuing a second caution, which would have resulted in a red card.
The decision was challenged by Diogo Jota, Fabinho, Virgil van Dijk, and captain Jordan Henderson, and the FA fined the team as a result.
Liverpool acknowledged that it had "failed to guarantee that its players conducted themselves in an orderly manner and/or do not behave in a manner which is indecent," according to a statement from The FA.
In response to assistant referee Constantine Hatzidakis' apparent elbow on Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson during last Sunday's draw with Arsenal, the FA declared on Thursday that it would take "no further action" against him.
On Monday, Liverpool will play their following match at Leeds United.
The news that the linesman in Liverpool's 2-2 tie with Arsenal will not be punished for what seemed to be an elbow on Andy Robertson was addressed by Jurgen Klopp.
The FA conducted its investigation into the incident involving linesman Constantine Hatzidakis and Robertson four days after the Scot received an elbow to the jaw.
Hatzidakis later asserted that it was "not my goal to initiate any contact," although they had already stated that they "would be taking no further action" against him.
As the match against Arsenal ended in a tie, Klopp immediately acknowledged he had not witnessed the incident firsthand but had been told that "the photographs speak for themselves."
