After leaving the field during Juventus' Europa League quarterfinal match against Sporting CP due to heart palpitations, Wojciech Szczesny declared that "everything is good."

After gripping his chest during the first half of Juventus' eventual 1-0 victory, the Polish goalkeeper left the pitch in tears and was replaced by Mattia Perin.

Players and fans alike expressed concern for Szczesny's health, but happily an electrogram performed by medical personnel at the Allianz Stadium determined there was no problem with his heart.

Szczesny was described as "doing well" by Juventus in a tweet following the game, and the former Arsenal goalkeeper was even able to talk to the media about the near-death experience.

According to Szczesny, it was frightening. It's something I've never experienced before. I was a little scared because I was having difficulties breathing, but I'm much better now.

"I was a little worried about that, but we've checked everything and it's all good."

He continued, "The reality is Mattia has been doing so well in training I let him come on." "Mattia was able to pull off a remarkable double save because I was exhausted. Best wishes to him."

In fact, Perin made crucial saves late in the game to give Juventus, whose goal scorer that night was Federico Gatti, a 1-0 lead going into next week's return leg in Lisbon.

The victor of the matchup will take on either Manchester United or Sevilla, who drew their last eight meeting to a thrilling 2-2 draw in the first leg. Erik ten Hag's United had all control after a double from Marcel Sabitzer, but a late brace of own goals from Tyrell Malacia and Harry Maguire have put the game squarely back in play.

Jose Mourinho is especially proud to be able to claim one particular record as his own.

The Portuguese manager is the only person to have triumphed in each of UEFA's three continental competitions. He owns championship rings from the Europa League, the Champions League, and the brand-new Europa Conference League.
